Paul Delgado presented

"A multiscale-multiphysics approach to modeling subsurface flow-deformation processes with applications to carbon sequestration" at The UTEP Graduate Research Expo on Nov. 9, 2012. He also gave 3 presentations at the UTEP-NMSU workshop in Oct. 2012: Stability and Convergce of sequentially coupled flow and deformation models in porous media: single phase darcy's law and biot's model; Derivation of Biot's Equations for Coupled Flow-Deformation Process; Generalization of Hetergeneous Multiscale Models coupling descrete microscale and continuous macroscale representations of physical laws.

Daniel Yehdego presented a poster

with the Bioinformatics Program at the joint UTEP/NMSU workshop on Oct. 27, 2012 held at UTEP. Title of the poster, "Secondary Structure Prediction of Long RNA Sequences Based on Inversion Excursions-Primarily Results".

Dr. Son-Young Yi awarded NSF Grant

of $263,569 for project entitled, "A mixed finite element framework for Biot's Consolidation model & it's interface problem".
