Wendy Bauerkemper is a 7th grade Science Technology teacher at Ross Middle School, where she has been teaching for the last four years. She is also the 8th grade girls' soccer coach and the mother of a teenage daughter who attends Eastwood High School. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. She transferred there in 2001 after three years of attending Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, where she studied Benthic Ecology and Marine Biology. At the time her husband was in the Military and had been stationed at Newport News, Va. and then was reassigned to El Paso, Texas. Upon arriving in El Paso she found that studying Marine Biology was difficult in the southwest desert and she found a new passion for El Paso's unique ecology. After graduation she decided to pursue a career in education and is currently seeking a Masters Degree in Education with a specialization in Science.
